Safety Beach Residence
Our client desired a luxury feel in a beach setting for this project to cater for large family holiday gatherings and to accommodate and entertain visiting groups of friends.
In response Alter Space developed the concept of “refined coastal” blending the sophistication of Martha Cove and the calm and tranquil waters of Safety Beach. The use of natural materials like stone illicit the surrounding environment of sand, clay and granite while timber was introduced for warmth. It too reflects the flora of eucalypts, banksia and blackwood acacia found in the scrub of Safety Beach.
The use of a simplified colour palette with tonal variation of the materials is enhanced by the tactile and textural nature of them. These have been coupled with whites and warm greys and highlighted by elegant joinery and lighting throughout each space.
